Dr Jane Lai

Dr Jane Lai is a Chartered Engineer with experience spanning Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) advisory and reporting, health and well-being, and design innovation.

Jane has worked closely with stakeholders to deliver Green Star, WELL, and NABERS projects, including building upgrade strategies, building performance assessments, and compliance. She has experience in corporate sustainability, including the application of frameworks and tools such as the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. In leading strategic engagement with clients, she has assisted in shaping ESG strategies and directions for major organisations.

Jane is an Honorary Senior Fellow, PhD supervisor, and regular guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne, and serves on the Industry Advisory Group for the Department of Infrastructure Engineering. Bridging industry and academia, she draws on her skills for the advancement of sustainable and healthy buildings, and continues to collaborate with universities on research opportunities.
