The redevelopment of the park includes upgrades to the community hall and bocce club building, repurposing of the grandstand to include seating, improvements to the landscaping and safety considerations as well as a new sports pavilion, multi-court and public amenities, including family-friendly facilities.
The recorded history dates back to the 18th century where a deep stone quarry was constructed to supply the local brickworks. After that it became a landfill until it became a community park in 1917. It is home to many community groups including a bowling club, elderly citizens group and a lacrosse and bocce sports club.
The upgrades take into account the growing population in the area and provide accessible amenities for all in the community.
