The Jenny Graves Building works involved adaptive reuse of the existing 1960 structure with new façade glazing and fabric, roof, lift shaft and stair well, all modelled and supported by the modelling and sustainability team at erbas™ SUSTAIN.
Within the tight floor to floor heights, erbas™ engineered and enabled services design for new amenities, digital labs on level 2, physical containment (PC2) labs on level 3 and lab cold shell and integrated fitouts for Solvay on level 4, whilst the basement was retained with new structural earthquake bracing, allowing operations and retention of the existing core campus services infrastructure. The new roof houses fume cabinet plant, air handlers, water plant, backup power and building chiller system.
